Student attacked on way home from night out

Police investigating a serious sexual assault on a woman in Leeds have released CCTV images of a man they want to trace.

The incident happened at an address in Headingley in the early hours of Thursday, September 25.

The 19-year-old victim was assaulted after she and her boyfriend had shared a taxi home with the suspect from Leeds city centre after a night out.

The victim is not thought to be a university student in Leeds.

Detective Superintendent Nick Wallen, of West Yorkshire Police Protective Services (Crime), said, ‘The CCTV images are very clear and show the man wearing a distinctive striped T-shirt, jeans and green Nike trainers.

I would ask that anyone who knows his identity or who has any information that could assist in tracing him contact us immediately.’

Police are interested in talking to the man seen in the pictures, and anyone with information is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police Protective Services (Crime) via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
