LUU Union Affairs Officer Bradley Escorcio acted quickly to quash claims that he was enjoying a holiday paid for by the Union.

Bradley and Aidan Grills, CEO of LUU have been in Michigan this week visiting the University of Michigan.

The Gryphon estimates that the overall cost of travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan, the location of the University, would cost in excess of £500.

Twitter user @Daisy_Rafferty Tweeted,

@georgebradley32 Is it true that @LeedsUniUnion have paid for Bradley to go to America??’

Bradley responded saying that the accommodation was being provided for free by the University of Michigan, while the University of Leeds had sponsored his flights.

When asked about the trip, A Union Spokesperson said,

‘Bradley has been invited as a guest of the University of Michigan to find out more about their approach to enhancing the student experience and embedding student leadership. The trip is a fantastic learning and development opportunity for us, as Bradley will bring all his findings back into the Union and enable us to continue to stretch ourselves and benchmark our work against best practice world-wide. The University recognised the value in this trip and so have funded Bradley’s travel expenses and his accommodation costs have been covered by our hosts in Michigan.’
